SPORTS PARENTING
We've all seen parents just a little out of control at games. Our goal is for our athletes to learn about sports and life while they play for the Chargers, working mightily as unto the Lord, and treating everyone we encounter with the honor due a person created in the image of God. CHRISTIAN-BASED
The Chargers is unashamedly a Christian-based organization. We expect all those associated with us—athletes, coaches, and family members—to conduct ourselves in a way that honors the Lord and each other. We pray before and after every game. Through devotionals and other means, athletes will be encouraged to behave with grace and self-control. Families of all faiths are welcome, provided they treat everyone with kindness and respect.
SKILL LEVELS
The CenTex Chargers is a competitive sports program. This means that when we have a game, we will play to win. This may mean that players will not all have the same amount of playing time. In younger teams, players can expect more time for learning, but the older and more experienced teams will put the players on the field or court who will provide us with the best chance to win. We feel that competition is healthy, and we honor the abilities of our more experienced players by giving them the chance to be successful. When the outcome of the game is clear, more players will be given an opportunity to play. If your athlete is concerned about playing time, he should ask his coach what he can do to improve. That being said, all experience and skill levels are welcome to join our teams. The comeraderie and physical challenge are worth it at every level!
COSTS
We are a volunteer-led organization and we strive to keep our costs low. There is a $20 family membership fee to join the CenTex Christian Homeschool Community, and a separate fee for each sport in which you participate. We try to keep sport fees between $150-$300. Fees cover uniforms, sport and safety equipment, gym and field rentals, officials, etc.
